Some people like their Strugglefish raw. That's what we've got here. Raw DHZ. While some bands carry along a stack of ADAT's to record every show of a tour & end up with a "perfect" live album, you can be sure it's gonna be different recording live at a Cornerstone Festival. In fact, the hot, sweaty July afternoons under the big tops become vivid memories (Ya, I was there). You can just feel the dust grit between your teeth & in your hair as the pit grows & swirls & the crowds swell & groove to such favorites as "Slow Serious", "Regret" & the hefty "Slatherage" (the best!-ed). One of the cool things about this band is that their music lends itself to some improvisation. The guitars here do a good job in relying on live normal effects instead of studio effects. Even when the band enters dangerous territory turning "Self" into a Mr. Bungle noise fest, featuring The Choir's Dan Michaels on sax. Dan returns later on "Secret". Scaterd Few's Alan Aguirre jumps in to guest while DHZ plays his song "Later (L.A. 1994)". A treat! While there were some noticeable problems, especially in the vocals, the outcome was a fun album that epitomizes a show at Cornerstone Festival. Be there!
