To experience Testament live is a must for any thrash fan. Listening to well produced album is one thing, but when a powerful figure is put with the voice before you, for instance Chuck...few frontmen can weaken your knees like him. Get a front row "seat", you'll see what I mean. And how many fans have stereos that can actually reproduce the crunch of those mighty Mesas? Well, unfortunately, this isn't a video, let alone the same as being there, but it's a decent representation. The difference between a live & studio album is usually scattered productions & sloppy playing. Well that's not so much the case here. Besides decent production-everything's in your face, more so than on Return To The Apocalyptic City-you get the guitar solos & little variations like Chuck changing the vocals. Also this is like a best of, with more adrenaline resulting from being played before the fans themselves. Songs from the whole of Testament's history are here. From the latest from Low: the title song, "Hail Mary" & "Dog Faced Gods" to classics like "The Preacher", "The New Order", "Into The Pit", "Practice..." & "Souls of Black", all played full tilt. Also included are acoustic versions of "Return To Serenity", "Trail Of Tears" & "The Legacy". Testament debut their own new label with this album proving that they've only gotten meaner. No live album can do justice to the hot sweaty smoky air & numbing volume of a live show, but this is as close as you can get with a good set of headphones & shut eyes.
