"...I mean if emo's going to make someone happy...whatever,"

OH MY GOSH, I don't think I've ever heard a funnier intro to a CD anywhere, ever, at any time, by anyone. It continues with "but we're about Dodgin' Bullets and the soundtrack to the end of the world baby! WASSUP!" only to be obliterated by the first song, aptly called "Dodgin' Bullets." You know you're tough guy hardcore when the first song off your first CD release is also your band's name!

Well you probably know this but with this album we get some more of those xDisciplex kids, some NIV members, and some personnel from Shockwave as well, creating an all star hardcore recording. Not to mention a hardcore album so freaking heavy you just got to prepare yourself to be beaten into the floor. The next track is "Knife To Your Heart" which appeared on the Facedown compilation CD, and is a killer song but you probably have heard this one already.

"Devil's Jaw" is the first song on the CD that's going to make you grab the insert and scramble to find out who the singer is. Why? Because it's the first song that the difference in the two vocalists really become super prominent. Yes that's right it's another band with dueling vocalists and man I dig that crap so much. Trading off line "This time I won't miss", and "The devil's jaw" and coming together for brutal ending "This is your last stand" I can listen to this song over and over.

Which brings me to my negative point. SIGH...another 5 song EP. You find you are forced to listen to these songs over and over because there's just NOT enough music here. The only song that I'm not crazy over is "Earn Your Respect" which falls into an incredibly standard old school style both in music and lyrics. You've heard this song so many times before. However the band pulls us back outta the fire with "Armachrist II." Lyrically this band has been able to keep Christ centered songs without fully being blatant with using the words Jesus and God so much. Of course God is used, but "Armachrist II" shows my point:

Your path of fire and hate has sent you to your grave
Crushed by the hand that gave you life

Throw in the stained glass window pictures under the CD that depict the life of Jesus and there is no mistaking this as a full on Christian album!

All in all I love this CD...it took me awhile to get it, so yeah it's been available from Facedown Records for some time now but man was the wait worth it!
