This is the second full length release from this melodic pop punk band from New Jersey. In my opinion this release shows major improvements from their first full length "Kids These Days". The novelty of this CD is that it was produced by Mike Herrera from MxPx, but there is so much more to this CD then the fact that it was produced by someone famous. I have a feeling we are going to hear a lot about this band in months to come. Their sound musically reminds me a lot of MxPx, with a definite All/Descendants feel to it, and maybe even a bit of rock and roll thrown in. The music is very tight, the bass lines are rather intricate at times, and the dual guitars compliment each other perfectly. The vocals are what set this band apart from many of the other pop punk bands out right now, due to the fact that a female is singing. I really can't think of anyone to compare the vocals to. Cute, sweat, and melodic would probably be the best way to describe the vocals. Although at times some of the vocals may come across as being slightly pushed. It may throw you off at first if you have not heard this band before, but I definitely think they will grow on you as they did me. The production on this CD is done very well also, good job Mike. Some of my favorite tracks include, "In My Heart and On My Mind" with is very catchy chorus, "Keeping Secrets" which is just a catchy song overall, and "Jersey Never Seemed So Long" which always brings the Wildwood New Jersey shore to mind for me. There is also a pretty cool instrumental track, very similar to some of the instrumental tracks that you might find on an All CD, this song is entitled "Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid". Probably my favorite track on the whole CD is the closing track "You Never Cease To Amaze Me," I found the chorus to this song rather catchy, " Just because you don't see the other side of the moon, doesn't mean its not there, time travels slow but maybe soon". Bottom line is I really enjoyed this CD, and have a feeling if you're down with the whole melodic pop punk thing, and don't mind female vocals, then you will enjoy this CD a lot too.
