Elliott is back with their long awaited follow up to "False Cathedrals." This is their 3rd full length. Elliott is signed with Revelation records.
"Song in the Air" is much more focused on the music than vocals or lyrics. While this is true of a lot of Elliott work, it's even more the case with "Song in the Air." The music is rich and warm painting pictures that are occasionally highlighted by drifting vocals, which move in and out with the greatest of ease. The music is supported by a good amount of string and piano parts, which blend perfectly with everything else going on in the songs.
While Elliott has never been especially aggressive, "Song in the Air" is more laid back than previous work. This album is a perfect companion for reflection or quiet introspection. This will definitely be in rotation for me this summer.
