Someone tell the new guy about the Huntingtons' obsession with the Ramones. This is probably the band's fifteenth release, or something like that, and it sounds like all the ones before it, except surely better in some abstract or technical way. Good production, good melodies, obvious confidence in their formula, and fun to listen to at night while doing email, pirating mp3's off Napster, or driving around Hilltop (Tacoma baby!) with the windows down. The wonderful rawness and personality delivered on their live album, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, is sadly absent, but so it goes. Don't worry, the attitude, snotty vocals, 'woah-oh' harmonies, unexplainably emotional sentiments, and fingernail-splitting speed in delivery is still omnipresent. And if you like the Huntingtons or, yes, the Ramones, you will like this album. You know what to expect, no need to preview or suppose. HOWEVER, you may just be thrown a bit by "Mutant Monster Beach Party" and its synth-urrealness. Great, great surf-punk instrumental actually. Who says the Huntingtons can't experiment once in a while.
