This is the first time I've had a chance to listen to Jebediah. I knew they had that whole indie rock/ pop rock sound to them, but I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. The first half of this album is quite good. They started the album off with a bang, with the song "Did you really?" This is just a great song with "screaming vocals" during many parts. The next few songs take the form of indie rock stuff you've heard from many other bands. They seem to have some really "original" hooks and melodies though which keep your interest in the songs. One song even has a power pop feel to it, with an awesome groove to it, lead by a nice bass line. After the first half of the album though, that's where there downfall comes in my opinion. They begin to fit the mold of many other bands in this genre, and lose the nice melodies and hooks, which were present in the previous songs. There was even one song at the chorus which reminded me of PFR, and that just turned me off to the song (which happened to start of really good). Many songs became longwinded, and the vocals became too dreamy, to the point where I became bored. The album started off good, but they didn't keep it up throughout. Fans of the band would certainly want to pick up this album, but those who are new to them may want to listen to it first before buying.
