If you wanted to categorize this band, the closest thing I can think of would be Social Distortion meets Weezer (but not as good on both counts). What popped out to me immediately were the vocals. I had a real hard time listening, because the vocals are so nasal. The band is from Australia (home of the recent Olympics and the Scorpions), but apparently nasal singing can transcend cultural barriers.
At some points the music caught my ear and I found myself tapping my foot, but those times were drowned out by, what was for the most part, a hard listen. The vocalist really put a crimp in the presentation, and musically they weren't doing a whole lot that pushes the envelope (although one song had a twist of country flare...good or bad you decide). The release is pretty mediocre and hopefully with time things could change.
