Leviticus used to be good. Now they're great. They've moved right into that "world class" elite brand of bands I mentioned before. Terry Hjortander, who goes by Terry H in the US (for obvious reasons. How do you pronounce Hjortander?), has helped Leviticus refine their sound for a more melodic, yet stronger sound. Bjorn Stigsson, who basically is Leviticus, has also very much improved his songwriting with each new release. Their latest album, Setting Fire to the Earth, scorches. "From my point of view," says subscriber and friend Daniel Nordstrom, "Setting Fire to the Earth is the best Christian album ever." This album is so hot, I want to scream and do flips! - and I've only heard three songs off of it! One song in particular that stands out is "Saved." It starts off with a total full-on and drawn out shout of "Pra-a-a-ise the Lord!" It's some of the most glorious and sincere praise I've ever heard! There's something exhilarating and special about shouting praises to the Lord. We did it at my church once for about three seconds and it was wonderful. King David put this into practice in his tabernacle. (Psalm 66:1) Terry flies from this into lyrics straight out of the book of Joel: "In the last days/ I'll pour out My Spirit upon all people/ Your sons and your daughters will prophesy/ Old men dream dreams and young men see visions." The chorus is so wonderful, it's shocking: "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved/ Hallelujah, hallelujah/ glory to God, will be saved/ Hallelujah, hallelujah/ glory to God." It's awesome. I'd say definitely in the top 10 best metal songs of all time. I asked Leviticus when this awesome piece of vinyl would be available to us here in the US.
