Life In Your Way is a metal/hardcore band in the vein of Poison the Well or Hopesfall. Vocally and lyrically, this album is extremely strong. Lyrically, the band sparks not only emotions, but also inspiration on songs like 'My Devotion' where Josh Kellam sings 'I've been put down let down but I've been touched, cared for, held onto cried many times make this right'. The shining track on this album is 'When It All Comes Down', a haunting but beautiful ballad led by a piano and acoustic guitar while Kellam sings 'You told me to sing so here's my songs'. The band chimes in with gang vocals screaming over this lush, pretty instrumentation.

My only complaint about 'The Sun Rises...' is that it seems at times the album gets bogged down--sounding like one big song. The band does its best to shy away from that, but it almost sounds inevitable on tracks like 'Rewrite My Concepts' and 'Long Letters'.

I hope to see more from this band in the future and hope they continue to grow artistically and break down barriers.
