I can't believe the number of decent underground thrash groups these days. Some of these bands are doing their homework. Mortal Enemy is one such band. From the gang BGV's (not BVD underwear, but BackGround Vocals) to the tight, chopping rhythms, you can tell this band has fun playing. This four-song tape has lots of time changes and melodic interludes, which show the talent and diversity of the band. The guitar tones on some of the leads sound a bit irritating, and the overall production holds the sound from really cranking...yet the songs hold their own.
