There are certain records that you listen to and you can't make anything of them. So you put them away and you procrastinate picking them up again and conveying any thought on them. Then there are those records where you procrastinate, pick them up and then put them back down and proceed to procrastinate more. This is one of those records.
Nevea Tears have pulled off a record of sub par metalcore that's tolerable in terms of music, but the vocals are insipid. I tried hard to like this recording but I can't. The whole package is unbearable. Even the lyrics (I hope I don't have to write this song again and God save the Queen). Well, we hope you don't have to either.
The keyboard parts are fun and the breakdowns are standard issue and enjoyable, but I can't get past the vocals or the lyrics. The screaming sounds hoarse and the lyrics sound like bad attempts at cryptic poetry. I usually enjoy the vast majority of what Eulogy releases, but this one isn't getting my vote.
