Okay, the heavyweight hype on this disc was that Liaison was ditching its keyboard fluff pop foundation for a rock solid guitar-wailin' base. I thought, "Okay, sock it to me!" The knockout punch I was expecting had some real strength behind it, but nothing heavier than Whiteheart. The ballad count is two. "Attitude" has nice and strong guitar tones, but the vocal production sounds like the Idle Cure style of delivery. "Wicked Ways" is the standout cut, in my opinion, taking a haunting Def Leppard approach with some minor chords. Liaison punches its way to a positive review here in HM, but they'll need to sweat the Whiteheart/Idle Cure similarities out of their system to get a heavy rockin' audience to bang their heads--yet I wouldn't be ashamed to have someone walk into the HM offices while this was cranked. Besides, do you know who plays on this record? Just a few notables, such as: Greg Bissonette (David Lee Roth & Joe Satriani bands), Tony Palacios, Lanny Cordola and Oz Fox. Take notice of this album. Let it go a few rounds with your ears.
