Rude Awakening
Untitled release

This tape offers enough crunch and guitar to satisfy the mosher's ferocious appetite for speed and distortion. The three songs here, "Religious Death", "Burn, Burn, Burn", and "Final Sign" all race along at 80 mph. The only thing holding back this tape is muddy production. They have some intense drumming, power chording, and fast lead breaks. Bob Snell, the vocalist, sounds like he's emulating Les Carlsen. The result is not bad.
The lyrics are along the lines of the "Turn or burn" variety. Thrashers should appreciate this tape and anticipate future releases from this promising young band. They can churn up some technical speed metal, but they're not blowing the walls down just yet.
