Nine songs filled with great guitars, keyboards, drums, vocals, songwriting...WOW! They've got it all! (You get the message? I like this tape and I don't even know these guys and they've never taken me to dinner.)
There are numerous musical influences here, at times you hear dark stuff (Dio, Maiden) and sometimes upbeat pop metal (Scorps, Dokken), but there is definitely an original sound that keeps breaking out of the pack.
All of the songs have their own sound, so it's hard to pick a favorite. "The Healer" has a great upbeat groove, as does "Christian Soldier"--complete with cool bass guitar slaps.
It sounds as if there are two lead vocalists in this group and they trade off nicely. A very creative ballad, "His Song", has great lyrics. "It's not my song, but Your song in me."
The guitar leads are handled effectively from the first song to the last. I recommend this tape for those of you who would like a first listen of a band who soon the world will be hearing.
Get it now, because they're signed to Regency and this probably won't be available much longer.
