The guys in Six Feet Deep provide a valid effort to the hardcore metal genre (Crucified, Suicidal Tendencies) with this three-song demo. Musically, the guys have a good overall hardcore sound with some real cool funky elements. Fans of The Crucified are likely to love this tape. The guys have appropriate in-your-face lyrics, and they address pertinent issues in a succinct way. In "Condemnation," Myk Porter, the band's vocalist, offers a discourse on judging others: "You, accuser/You, you the judge/Look within yourself/What do you find?/Condemnation belongs to God." On the whole, these guys have fun with their music genre; yet they need more variety of songs rather than trying to squeeze variety into each song through awkward time changes. Maybe this is just showing the band's youth and/or inexperience in this style. Living with this intense music will only bring tightness and improvement. I think this is one of the hottest indie releases around. As a side note, they offer a good visual representation of scripture in their cover art.
