Oh my goodness! Anybody here who likes death metal, raise your hand. OK, all of you that raised your hands, if you don't purchase this album you just lied. This killer album will blow you away, guaranteed! And if Extol ever wanted some competition, they've got it now. Seriously, there are some secular labels that ought to be kicking down this band's door, begging to sign them. Speaking of "them," at the time of this recording this was a one-man band. Don't let that discourage you, though. After all, Horde was, too. The music here is blistering, technical death metal. The vocals are extremely intense death growls, with some black-ish vocals thrown in for an even darker feel at times. Keyboards are incorporated, as well, but they are more tastefully used than just about any other band this genre has seen. And with truckloads of blast beats and double bass, Invocation doesn't let up in the slightest until song 9! My only disappointment is that tracks 9 and 10 should have been the last two songs on the album, as they really broke an awesome pace that had been set. Other than that, prepare for an all-out assault. Sympathy will pummel you and beat your skull into the ground. And anyone foolish enough to try and get up will wish they never tried. Order this masterpiece at Blastbeats.com and prepare for the onslaught!

Art for the Ears 2002Reviewed by Marco PovervestSympathy, I feel, needs some introduction. It's another one man band consisting of this obscure person Dharok. He's been active in the extreme metal for more than a decade. His first demo appeared in 1992. Invocation is his third full length and the first with support from a label. Now, you might be prejudiced about a one man band. Is this guy able to deliver a great album alone? Can a guy play…Similar sounding releases
