well... not the best darkwave techno you'll find, but it is very decently made. The number one problem listeners will have with this album: 10 tracks, 3 songs. Up through track 8 are remixes of mislead. This may not upset some... or even most darkwave/techno enthusiasts... but I got tired of "they want to lift you up..." over and over. I was unsure as to reviewing this album on Dead or not... as I wasn't positive about the band's faith... until I saw the lyrics in the last song, "shame"

Show me how to escape all this pain
Sometimes I feel like I've gone insane
    Must escape my little mind
Oh this world is so unkind
So ashamed of all the things we say

    Shame on you
    Shame on you
    Is nothing sacred?
    Is nothing true?

Show me how to forget all this hate
Down so far I cannot see my fate
Just can't seem to fill the void
All the things that I've destroyed
What else is there left to violate?

    Spoken word:
My eyes are ever on the Lord for only he will release my feet from the snare.
Come to me and be gracious to me for i am lonely and afflicted
The troubles of my heart have multiplied
    Free me from my anguish

Fairly well-based lyrics going on there. With so little to comment on in this album, I'm forced to just say... Overall, this album would have been much better with more new content... but what is given is great darkwave... in the vein of fatal blast whip. Good for those who enjoy darkwave and techno/rave... but not for those who enjoy a full band production.

    6/10

The Phantom Tollbooth 1999Reviewed by Joe RockstrohIn order to make good remixes, you need the original material to be solid stuff. Happily, Torn Skin does just that with this EP. With a solid grasp of post-industrial rock and a penchant for melody, Torn Skin will appeal to old-school industrial fans and those of the NIN generation as well. The trade-off vocals between Jennifer Happach's angelic purr and Rob Buhl's raspy, distorted voice is…Dead Zine 1999Reviewed by D_ListerIf you've not already read the review of Fatal Blast Whip--Seduction then you should read it first. This review will refer back to that one a good bit. If you have already read that one then please continue. This is another EP from Blacklight Records. This one contains 10 tracks instead of the 9 that FBW had, however it only has 3 original songs. Mislead, Addiction and Shame. That leaves tracks 2…
