Remembering the first time hearing "Stop The Bleeding" and recalling what set Tourniquet apart from other techno-thrash bands, secular or Christian, is their musical ability. "Psycho Surgery" rips into the opening cut by the same name, and only lets up when it intends to. This album finds the addition of two permanent members: guitarist Erik Mendez; and bassist Victor Macias, whose thunderous bass riffs are quite impressive. Vocalist Guy Ritter has been compared to the likes of King Diamond and Udo Dirkschnieder (Accept)...All I can say--and this is my honest opinion--those guys could only wish that they possessed the vocal dexterity of Guy Ritter, who happens to be one of the best vocalists I have ever heard! His timing and vocal versatility is phenomenal. The highlight of this effort is a cut called "Vitals Fading", which the setting takes place in a hospital, with a child who is ignored by his calloused family, but finds peace and serenity in the arms of the Lord. Christian rappers PID join in with the Tourniquet boys for a tune called "Spineless", which is reminiscent of back when Anthrax came out with a thrash/rap tune, called "I'm The Man". "Psycho Surgery" deals with topics such as dysfunctional, alcoholic family trouble to chemical pollution. Tourniquet remains to be not only the best technical thrash bands, but also one of the most aware bands in the Christian metal scene. By the way, these guys put on a killer set at C-Stone.

Dead Zine 2002Reviewed by sesspoolalright... the second album has a much different feeling and presentation. the band has dropped ye' ol' hairband looks and has taken on the "i look more wasted than you" look, and personally i think that look is cool. now, the guitar work is not too far from the Stop the Bleeding record. very old school thrash/speed and very technical. the riffs are executed very explicitly (heheh i like that…Dead Zine 2002Reviewed by undeadAs most of you have come to expect from listening to a Tourniquet album, there are many different aspects and musical directions that this band has chosen to pursue. This particular album just happens to be in a brilliant stretch from '90-92' when Tourniquet made three killer albums in a row (this is the 2nd). The first song on this album is by far my favorite. It is the title track and begins…HM Magazine #92Reviewed by Doug Van PeltYou've got to rejoice in the justice of it all when a band redeems the rights to their back catalog. Then, when it gets re-released with new packaging and bonus tracks, you can really get excited. As in the case of Tourniquet, who have re-released their classic first three albums on their own (Stop The Bleeding, Psychosurgery, and Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance), and they didn't skimp on the…
