As most of you have come to expect from listening to a Tourniquet album, there are many different aspects and musical directions that this band has chosen to pursue. This particular album just happens to be in a brilliant stretch from '90-92' when Tourniquet made three killer albums in a row (this is the 2nd).

The first song on this album is by far my favorite. It is the title track and begins with what sounds like an orchestra tuning up, then frenetic guitars break in and never let up. As in this song, and many others on the album, there is some incredible soloing done by Gary Lenaire that is just as good as any secular music out there. We're talking very technical stuff. On a whole, this album doesn't have the sheer thrash quality of Stop the Bleeding, but there are many times when that element is present, and there are many quick time changes.

Something that strikes me as odd on this album is the frequent use of medical terminology. Songs like Broken Chromosomes, Officium Defunctorum, and Stereotaxic Atrocities make this a very interesting listen. The only drawback of this cd, and the reason for my low rating, is the fifth track titled Spineless. It starts out with a pretty cool solo, but then they break out the turntables!! So if you love thrash, and can stand one bad song, be sure to get this disc.

Dead Zine 2002Reviewed by sesspoolalright... the second album has a much different feeling and presentation. the band has dropped ye' ol' hairband looks and has taken on the "i look more wasted than you" look, and personally i think that look is cool. now, the guitar work is not too far from the Stop the Bleeding record. very old school thrash/speed and very technical. the riffs are executed very explicitly (heheh i like that…HM Magazine #92Reviewed by Doug Van PeltYou've got to rejoice in the justice of it all when a band redeems the rights to their back catalog. Then, when it gets re-released with new packaging and bonus tracks, you can really get excited. As in the case of Tourniquet, who have re-released their classic first three albums on their own (Stop The Bleeding, Psychosurgery, and Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance), and they didn't skimp on the…Heaven's Metal #31Reviewed by Stephen WagersRemembering the first time hearing "Stop The Bleeding" and recalling what set Tourniquet apart from other techno-thrash bands, secular or Christian, is their musical ability. "Psycho Surgery" rips into the opening cut by the same name, and only lets up when it intends to. This album finds the addition of two permanent members: guitarist Erik Mendez; and bassist Victor Macias, whose thunderous…
