Vengeance Rising
Anthology

Ah, so here it is...the compilation album covering the history of a band that was about as influential to Christian metal as Stryper was. When Vengeance's debut album, "Human Sacrifice," came out, it revolutionized the fledgling Christian metal scene. Suddenly, thrash and speed metal were the rage. Of course, it was a few years behind its fallen brothers counterpart, but it was indeed credible. This here collection is a very good listen all the way through, culling from the best of its material. Included are essentials like: "Can't Get Out," "Warfare" and "Into The Abyss" from the "Once Dead" album and "Mulligan's Stew," "White Throne" and the title track from the debut album, as well as the best from the Die Happy-less days of V.R., like "You Will Be Hated," "You Can't Stop It" and "Before The Time." Now that the band is apparently gone for good, it is good to have another album that may act as a fantastic witnessing tool for those into the thrash and grind scene. Too bad there isn't a Bible study, Sanctuary # or contact address on it for follow-up, though.
