This band is great, definitely one of my favorite bands. They have covered just about everything that I look for in a great band. They are often considered a punk rock band, with an emo feel, but I don't think that really covers it. Yes they do have a punk feel, and yes their vocals and lyrics are very emotional, but there is just so much more. Tons of energy, great melodies, driving guitar, creative bass lines, powerfully gripping dual vocals and lyrics that can really tug on your emotions. On this release they stick to the classic Alkaline Trio format, and just expand on it. Some of the songs are very ballad like, while others are energy driven melodic rock tunes. I really don't know what else to say about this CD. Did I mention the drummer? He is amazing. Just wait till you see them play live, although they have a new drummer, he still tears it up. Even if you are generally not into this type of thing, I would recommend at least giving it a try. You might be surprised what you find.
