One of the midwest's better hard rock bands has released a nicely packaged compact disc, which should be awesome news... The disappointing fact is that the band failed to push themselves over the top on the production of this 10-song album. Some good ideas are presented here, like the cool Gregorian chant sound beginning In The Presence and the attempt at Def Leppard-like BGV's in Eye of the Storm, yet most of the album flounders in middle-of-the-road pop. There are two songs, though, that warrent attention: Work it Out, which comes slugging out of the speakers with a big 'n' nasty bass sound, making ya want to scream "Oh yeah!" and We're Fed Up, a song expressing anger over celebrities who recklessly espouse safe sex, which features a vocal hook much like the pre-chorus to Extreme's Get The Funk Out.
