What's up guys? It's evening service here at Camp What? Yes, this tape is evening worship/entertainment material. This can be looked at two different ways. First, as most services go, the message is truly important; and this project is full of scripture-based lyrics, which read while listening to could lead to some great devotional time. In the lyric sheet they give scripture references to back up the truth in the lyric of the songs. Overall, they can fit well in a church camp setting or just youth fellowship service and very well could follow up with a message of commitment. Yes, the song that could do a very good amount of work in people's lives is the track Rachel. More artists need to, if they feel comfortable, share personal testimonies; and this track deals with a personal outlook on abortion. Even if it hasn't happened to you or someone you know, the issue today is real and can change a lot of people's lives with the love of God shared in this lyric. If I had to pick a favorite lyric and song which had the most depth, Rachel would be that song. Well, the second way to look at this would be the music. Like I said, if you're at camp and you made your decision whether or not to listen attentively according to the music, you might choose not to listen. Purin Heart needs to grow much more in the music writing of their material and this should come with growth and experience. Much like the knowledge in the lyrics come with understanding, so should the gift of music. Overall, the lyrics give this band a ministry and, as they continue to grow, let's pray for better music.
