Whoa dude! The Deliverance album kills! This stuff crunches like sandpaper, yet has hooks that grab ya for keeps. Jimmy Brown's vocals are melodic, passionate, and understandable!
If you liked "Attack" and "A Space Called You" from the Cal Metal album, you're gonna be in for a huge surprise! These 10 tunes are much, much better. Where Vengeance tackles the Slayer sound, Deliverance just totally destroys in the speed metal category, sounding as tight as Metallica.
"No Time" has a killer message about the necessity of spending time with God. Jimmy's vocals climb in desperation in the chorus.
"No Love" has big, BIG BGV's in melodious harmony that sounds like Iron Maiden...then, of course, the snare rips in and speeds the song up a zillion mph!
"Blood Of The Covenant" ends with what sounds like Caesar Kalinowski doin' his best Bill Murray imitation, saying, "I don't think I like that last scream."
This entire album literally rocks with an unrelenting energy. Given proper promotion, this music could go gold. Pick it up as soon as it comes out.
The advance copy arrived in the mail hours before going to press, which is why this review is so short. Believe me--this album is heavy and excellently performed. It's sure to be the metal album of the summer.
