If you haven't heard Hopesfall yet, you're missing out. Definitely one of the most emotional cds you're going to find anywhere. This cd will keep you interested. Pretty much every song has a beautiful emo breakdown. The quality of this emo is high enough that I believe Hopesfall could start up an emo side project and tear it up just as much as they do with their hardcore. The vocals are just as shrill and powerful as they come. To try to imagine a mix of Strongarm with Through and Through with parts reminiscent of Training for Utopia and Eso-Charis all running into a thick slab of emotion, that's probably as good of a description of Hopesfall. The lyrics are very personal and perfect for bringing the Spirit in at their live shows. The drums are tight and filled with double bass appropriate for hardcore, not really metal. I don't know that I've ever heard a better mix of emo and hardcore than what you'll find on The Frailty of Words. As much as I like this disc, I find myself almost at a loss of words to describe it. Let me sum this cd up like this, I believe Hopesfall to be ground-breaking and on their way to a very large place in the hardcore scene. Anyone who does not have this cd and calls themselves a hardcore fan had better get it quick before someone finds out.

HM Magazine #78Reviewed by Doug Van PeltNow, this is some intense hardcore! The band simply shreds! Besides the building grooves and beautifully over-the-top hardcore screaming, the band shows some real originality and flies in and out of emo musings like a pendulum. The dynamics of swirling along and then being slammed up against a wall are gigantic. These guys are certainly one of today's hardcore bands to see and hear. Available on…Similar sounding releases
