Southern rock has added a new child to its family. Kings of Leon is the new child and they come from Tennessee. They are a combination of good ol' southern rock and the new school garage rock fad. This group of young southern boys were picked up by RCA records.
RCA also has The Dave Matthews Band, Cave In, The Strokes, and The Foo Fighters under their wing.
RCA released their first release called "Holy Roller Novocaine". This five song EP left me wanting more. It was too short to get the full taste of the band's grip on their musical influences and depth. Their full length comes out in July and I will be on the lookout for that.
"Holy Roller Novocaine" is catchy and just addictive. It's part rockabilly, it's part garage rock, it's part southern rock, it's 60's, 70's and present. Good job boys. Great songs, great sound, good production value but it was just too short.
