Quite honestly, I didn't expect much when I got this tape. Imagine my surprise when I hit the play button and heard a musical assault that made me change my mind very quickly. The first thing that comes to mind when I hear these tunes is the current Deliverance style, which is evident in "Face of It," and Believer, in "Invincible."
Lyrically, these guys seem to be quite mature. "And I begin where logic ends/ You must have faith/ Eternal sleep overcomes all men/ I awake, Don't deny this, I exist." (from "Existence")
The one problem I had with this tape came from the tune "Premeditated Kill." It says, "Premeditated kill, violent, better death than to be a bastard." Obviously a song about abortion, I simply cannot understand why those types of words have to be used -- especially by a Christian band -- to convey a point.
The production is top notch. Believe me, when the double bass gets rolling, you can feel it. This is a great offering by a young band that should not be passed up.
