Here's a full-length tape of cheesy metal cliches. In 1987, these guys might've been kings of the small Christian metal heap, but it's 1993 and the riffs and rhythms, rhythms and rhythms are tired. Phew! Some of the rhythms are tight and inventive, like the intro to Ephesians, but can get repetitive. Lyrically, the band makes no apologies for being bold and upfront with their simple Gospel message. "Anti-Christ, don't listen to his lies/Anti-Christ, you just might be surprised." One thing that is very cool here is Benediction, a picking guitar instrumental that is very classy. If you like your metal heavy and loud without lots of fanciness, then Dominyon may be the band for you; but, if you like beefier guitar tones, singers who stay out of the waah-aah! range and riffing that sounds fresh, you'll pass on Dominyon and hope they fine tune their craft a lot more before the next release.
