Anybody who appreciates bands such as Queensryche or Sacred Warrior will appreciate this five-piece band. Yet, they have their own sound and a special approach to writing music. Strong, driving metal...this band's guitar sound has good sustain, texture, and character. It doesn't sound like your typical Marshall stack sound, yet it consists of very good power and distortion. A very talented and creative band that apparently consists of musicians who are well-seasoned in various musical tastes and training. For example: arrangements that resemble what an orchestra director might develop, the use of classical guitar, Oberheim-sounding keyboards that sound like what Rush used on their albums during the early 80's, whistling, various uses of rests, holds, off-beats, accents, the use of traditionally non-heavy metal percussion instruments such as orchestral bells or chimes, and others. You can't classify them into any one category such as thrash or speed metal or melodic metal since they blend these and others in a smooth transition. They maintain a good balance and use of vocal harmony. With this being their first album, I am looking forward to hear what future albums will hold. I count it a blessing to have been able to review this album, particularly since I hear a professionally done album that reaches out and gets your attention. The lyrics are cut and dry, yet they are not dogmatic or over-bearing to where a non-Christian would feel that the person singing is pious or judgmental like a Pharisee. Most importantly, this album is sure to minister to anybody. The vocalist, Vett Roberts, has a good voice in which he has a considerable range and overall control of it. He knows when to "speak/sing", when to "sing/sing", when to "scream/sing", and when to "gravel/sing".
