Taste the Touch (Video)

Here's a very up-close look at a very rad and unique band--scaterd-few. Of all the custom videos that have come my way, this one has the highest quality footage. After the laid-back "B'rak Hashem", vocalist extraordinaire Ramald Domkus explains his choices of using the Hebrew names for Jehovah God. "I'm convinced the American church has lost the Hebrew-ness of the Gospel. Our God is not an American God. He is a Hebrew God." During this interview, where he addresses his own weirdness and his musical influences, he's being made up with thick white paste being painted into his hair. Yeechh! He ends up looking like a cross between TBN's Paul Crouch and George Washington. The sonics of this concert footage was picked up very well, capturing the tightness of the rhythm section of Omar Domkus (bass), Samuel West (drums), and Jamie Mitchell (guitars) and all their cool riffs. "Lights Out" is a good example, featuring lots of fidelity due to lots of well-crafted and sparse sounds. "I'm about as normal as they come," claims Ramald in one of several interspersed interview clips. Some of the later footage (apparently shot in Seattle) wasn't as professional as the earlier footage (shot in Tacomma), a lot of which can be attributed to the difference in light systems each night. This holds back some of the obvious "magic" that must've been in the air during this very moving and moody version of "Look Into My Side". Those curious about this enigmatic band will benefit from this look at the band's performance and interview clips. Most of all, it really shows the musical talent that these guys possess.
