Land of the Living

This band would benefit from a more commercial direction. "Preoccupied," the first song on the second side of the nine song demo, supports this opinion. The chorus in the song is extremely cool and smooth and has a hook that'll yank the big fish out of your lake any old day. This is the best song on the tape - probably the most commercial sounding.
The other eight songs on the demo are fairly good also. "Land of the Living" and "You Saved My Life" fit more into the upbeat rock/metal category. "The Only One" and "Walk Free" are more melodic metal in sound. But none of the songs seem to blend as well as "Preoccupied."
Robert Carlton is an excellent guitarist and Sheryl Ellenberger has a wonderfully raw, but beautiful voice. The mixing of the two seems to go better in the more commercial (mainstream) rock vein than the traditional metal sound they appear to be heading for.
