This band rocks! Roger Dale Martin (former bass player of Vengeance Rising and Die Happy) is back with another hot band. but this time he has left behind the mosh pits and distorted vocals for smokin' Southern rock 'n' roll - not from the Heart of Dixie, but from Southern California. The music is smooth and bluesy with plenty of wailing guitars (probably made from trees grown below the Mason/Dixie Line).
The vocals on the demo are reminiscent of Charlie Daniels. They fit the music perfectly as they sing out the bold Gospel lyrics on each tune. One of my favorite lines is in the song "Preacher Man." It says, "There's a lot of wolves out there givin' preachers a bad name/you better look at the fruit before you judge/cause you know they ain't all the same!"
The song "Almost Home" is like one of those slow, bluesy Lynyrd Skynyrd numbers. The guitar solo on it is extremely cool. "Gonna Get Hot" and "Know Why You Believe" are a couple of jammin' tunes that get the feathers ruffling and the blood boiling.
All of you who enjoyed Martin's earlier works will not be disappointed with his latest creation. It will put the rock in your roll and the roll in your soul.
