David Zaffiro has once again let his creative production juices drench another new band. Tera is wringing wet. The two songs on the demo are extremely heavy and create an intense, mysterious mood for the listener. "Seventh and Sanctuary" has a Holy Soldier/Sacred Warrior vibe to it. The chorus is like floating on a lake of glass with a soft breeze whirling through your head. "Ides of the Last Reign" picks up the pace with a slight feel of Queensryche. It has some cool rythym changes, which help build upon the aggressive attitude displayed throughout the song.
The lyrics that are branded in these tunes are beyond a shallow mentioning. One could spend hours swimming in the thoughts and spiritual guidance that seem to engulf the listener as he dives into the perfectly mastered songs.
Some may be thinking that the projects Zaffiro has soaked his hands in all sound the same. Though there are obvious similarities with the different bands he has produced (Holy Soldier, Zion, Broken Silence), there are distinct ear pleasing differences which will attract listeners to each of his creations.
As already stated, Tera is an intense band who needs to be given an intense chance to put out an intense, Olympic pool size album.
