Pale Horse
Mournful
Reviewed by Jeff Lott
Pale Horse fits everything that is hot about death metal -- Black Sabbath guitar riffs, plodding bass, complex drumming, and horrifying vocals. In other words, fantastic. These four young men from New Jersey have created a fabulous work of art. "Iniquity" kicks off the tape, which talks of Matthew 13:3-9, the parable of the sower. Lots of time changes and intense guitar work. There are five more masterpieces on this tape, and with the exception of "The Treasure," which is an acoustic song about Matthew 6:21, all are incredibly heavy.
The production, though not album quality, is definately above average. Pale Horse is a band that makes Christian metal very reputable, and something that a believer would enjoy turning his unsaved friends on to.
