This is the second comp. for Buddyhead in about a year and I really don't know what to say.
I really don't know what to say about comp albums because I feel obligated to share my feelings about every song. I know that some people do, and I just can't and won't do that. It seems like a waste of time and too much work.
This comp is actually not half bad though. It has some killer bands on it like Ink and Dagger, Dillinger Escape Plan (they cover the Billy Idol classic "Rebel Yell"), and The Murder City Devils. Buddyhead also throws their whole current lineup into the album. The Icarus Line and Your Enemies Friends take their place on the album along with other label mates. Along with all the songs (even a song by the classic Gayrilla Biscuits), you will find a number of prank phone calls from a man who is known as The Torture Device. This is really funny and messed up as well, but kept me laughing. The calls were placed to certain bands and their managers. The Torture Device calls The Locust, The Ataris manager, The Explosion manager, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Tenacious D's manager and others. It's actually funny and over the top at times but it's all cool. I don't really dig all the music on the comp, but the phone calls carry it all and made it enjoyable.
