Low-fi indie pop. If this wasn't so low-fi I would probably dig it a lot more. What kind of went through my mind while listening to this was, "If the Monkees were a DIY indie rock band, and their CDs were not so produced, and if they experimented more with electronic devices, then they may sound like this." The vocals have a little bit of a twang to them as well. Some of the songs really stood out to me, and I wish I could hear them recorded slightly better. Actually, most of the songs had a cool pop feel to them that I definitely enjoyed. If my dad put these songs on a tape and told me that this was his high school garage band I would probably believe him. The experimental aspect I could do without, but put these boys in the studio with a good producer and I think they would come out with one heck of a CD. Don't get me wrong, I liked this band, I just didn't like the production and some of the "weird" things they did musically on this CD. This CD would have gotten at least a high B, if not for the lo-fi sound.
