Vague
Collage
Reviewed by Doug Van Pelt
Here's some pro-sounding alternative pop rock along the lines of Rick Elias (who produced side A of this album) and a Sam Phillips, in a dance-able way...kinda like an acoustically-driven INXS at times. Cool stuff. Like a collage, the lyrics to many of the songs here create visual images of several different varieties, conveying several different emotions, like "Shocked by a handful of melting snow in my face/ Snow from the hearts of a dead human race." (from "Collage") Side B is all acoustic versions of older Vague tunes. Lots of good harmonies between John Thompson and Michelle Thomason.
